As expected, for the fourth consecutive time my starter motor tail gear was briken. This time the small idle starter gear #2 that engages the starter motor survived.I read your postings on my third starter gear breakage and re-checked my decompressor.I even turned off the head light when starting-mine Savage is a Canadian type with lights on all the time. When I started the engine, it could not run properly and died with a STRONG metal sound that shaked my bike.As I expected on the next try starter teeth were missing. So this time I think that the reason is in the starter clutch.Next day I saw one of the few Savages in Bulgaria and tried and tried to turn the engine off like mine, but every time it turned off smoothly or slightly engages idle gears.Last year I posted message about this strange noise, but all answers calmed me that this is usual for Savage. As I wrote before, when the big starter driven gear missed a tooth I replaced the whole starter clutch. this time I intend to put back the old starter clutch with the new driven gear taken from the new clutch. What do you think. I gave myself and my bike 3 more breakdowns and then I will give up. Please, help me to keep my Savage (with working starter mechanism). All advices will be appreciated.
Thank you,
Best wishes,
Miroslav
